There are at least two of us on SNA with this CD player. I wonder if anyone has heard it or has one and can comment on its sound? I suspect it would respond well to modding as it has dual TDA1541A DA chips and is a nice solid unit.
I think the opamps would be the first target from the effort to benefit consideration. They are ancient Mitsubishi M5238L (8P SIP): Dual low noise JFET operational amplifier Theres very little on the net about that opamp except for some forum chat ' unremarkable OP-amp, the M5238L.
They really could have used something better here - even a regular NE5532 would do the trick.' Has anyone modded the CDP or similar opamps? Edited May 22, 2010 by Nada.
